Every wedding is a story, but Shindy and Herby’s celebration in Indianapolis was nothing short of a page-turner. With just ten days to plan, their dream wedding came together through faith, creativity, and a team of talented vendors. From an intimate family ceremony at a historic Indiana landmark to a candlelit reception at the Conrad Hotel, this day was a testament to love, determination—and a touch of humor.

The Church: A Fairy-Tale Beginning

For Shindy, the wedding day’s heart and soul was the ceremony, and it had to be in a church. With their international residency, finding a congregation to host the event was a significant challenge, but Irvington Presbyterian Church became the answer to their prayers.

Recently named an Indiana Heritage Site, this stunning church was the perfect setting for their vows. Its tall cathedral ceilings and rich wooden planks created a space that felt both sacred and magical—a cathedral straight out of a fairy tale. The sun streamed through stained glass windows, casting vibrant colors across the aisle as Shindy walked toward Herby, surrounded by their closest family members.

The intimacy of the moment was heightened by the church’s timeless beauty and the love that filled the room. The couple’s vows echoed through the grand space, a touching reminder of the bond they were celebrating.

Securing this venue was the most challenging part of the planning process, with final approval coming just two days before the wedding. But the kindness and cooperation of the church staff made it all possible, adding a layer of gratitude and meaning to the day.

A Quick Bite Before the Big Moment

Weddings are often full of surprises, and Herby gave us a moment of unexpected humor on his way to the ceremony. Riding in a sleek black Cadillac, styled and ready for the biggest day of his life, he made an impromptu pit stop at none other than Hardee’s.

While Shindy was getting her final touches done, Herby decided he needed a quick bite to calm his nerves before saying "I do." There he was, a groom in a sharp suit, pulling up to a fast-food drive-thru in a luxury car, ordering a burger and fries as casually as if it were any other day.

The sight of Herby munching on his meal while sitting in the Cadillac was a moment of pure comedy that had everyone on the planning team laughing. It was a reminder that amidst the elegance and grandeur, weddings are also about being human and finding joy in the little things.

Style and Elegance

Shindy’s style was nothing short of spectacular. Her ceremony gown, a masterpiece of timeless design, perfectly complemented the elegance of the church. As she stood under the soaring ceilings, she looked every bit a queen in her fairy-tale setting.

Herby, despite his burger detour, looked dashing in his tailored suit, awaiting Shindy with an expression of love and awe. Together, they embodied the grace and beauty of a classic romance, perfectly framed by the stunning architecture of the Irvington Presbyterian Church.

A Scenic Celebration and Candlelight Dinner

After the ceremony, the couple explored Indianapolis in their Cadillac, capturing photos at iconic city landmarks under the golden hues of October sunlight.

The reception at the Conrad Hotel continued the theme of elegance and intimacy. The ballroom glowed with the warm light of countless candles, creating a romantic atmosphere that felt almost otherworldly. I Do Flowers by Sarah adorned the tables with lush arrangements of creamy roses, eucalyptus, and touches of burgundy, perfectly complementing the soft flicker of the candles.

Guests were treated to an exquisite dinner prepared by the Conrad’s culinary team, followed by heartfelt toasts and the couple’s first dance. The Blue Water Kings Band filled the room with timeless melodies, keeping the dance floor lively well into the night.

A Celebration of Love

Though planned in just ten days, this wedding was filled with beauty, love, and unforgettable moments. From the fairy-tale ceremony at Irvington Presbyterian Church to the candlelit reception—and even Herby’s hilarious Hardee’s stop—every detail came together perfectly.

Shindy and Herby, thank you for trusting us to bring your vision to life. Your wedding is a reminder that with love, faith, and a little determination, even the most ambitious plans can become a dream come true.
